| John did a 1,000 square foot project in our new home. He was very thoughtful and careful during the entire project. I would absolutely use him in the future. |

| John and his team installed 16x16 natural stone slate tile in 700sqft of our home. They did a great job with custom cutting and fitting all the tiles and the transitions from the main rooms to the hallways is spot on. Overall an excellent job. |

First project was a tiling of a main bathroom. This included a coved ceiling above the tub, plumbing some very uneven walls, leveling a really bad floor. The second project was a kitchen/pantry/laundry area/bathroom combination.

Additional Comments:
This is actually the second job John and Ed have done for us. The first was a bathroom and the second was a kitchen/pantry laundry room/bathroom combination. As a very picky customer I was immensely impressed with his attention to detail, neatness, creativity and work ethic. John actually offerred several changes and tips to our vision of the tile project that changed the overall look of the job immensely. On the second job they had to repair and prepare the wood subfloor for the tile. To make sure the quality of the installation would hold, they drilled and screwed each plank of the subfloor before adding the Vitra, cement and tile. They even checked with the manufacturer to make sure what they were doing would insure the Vitra's warranty. I guess the best testament is that we are looking to do a couple more jobs with him and have referred him to several others. He is also on Az Tiles's preferred installation list. |

| (All comments herein represent my personal opinion.) Installation of a high and lengthy backsplash in the kitchen and patio bar counter using very small diamond shaped tiles. This was an unusually demanding job allowing little margin for error because of the small tiles, and even more so because my wife and I designed a tile edging which did not exist commercially. In addition, this type of tile is typically used only for accent purposes, and not for entire wall sections. John worked to understand both this unusual application and the fabrication of our novel edge design in a highly focused and conscientious manner, and did so perfectly. With respect to price, we obtained only one other estimate by phone but in view of the innovative nature of the job, and our initial judgement of John vs. our initial judgements of contractors in our experience, we felt there would be little net marginal value from multiple bids. |
Additional Comments:
Neat, clean and punctual with excellent communications and perfectly execution. He should give lessons to other contractors. (We did not become aware of this contract through Angie's list but did check it to see if it referenced his name.) In sum, from beginning to end, he and Ed met the three components of trustworthiness - i.e, integrity, competence and commitment. |

| John measured the entire house back in the fall and tiled the first half at the end of September/beginning of October. He then came back at the end of December to finish the other half of the house and to also tile around our fireplace (we needed some breathing time in between in order to pack & move things from one room to another). |
Additional Comments:
John and his co-worker Ed did an excellent job for us. We are so pleased with the results. The lines were perfectly straight and the tile level --- now whenever I see someone else's tile, I compare it to the work John did in our house (and there is no comparison --- his work was flawless). He was also honest with his advice - we started out wanting to use wood-look tile, which he said he could do but would likely cause more delay and expense since the floor would need to be perfectly level, requiring most likely concrete grinding to make it work -- we opted instead for 18x18 porcelain tile and now are so happy we took his advice. Most punctual contractors we have ever worked with and - an important plus for me, both John & Ed are non-smokers. And they were both very patient with my multitude of questions. If you want your tile installed professionally, then this is the company you want to use |

| Torn out old shower, countertop, and floor. Created new, bigger shower area. Replaced old countertop with tile as well as adding a shelf over the toilet made out of the same tile. Replaced a carpeted area in bathroom with tile so that the whole bathroom is tiled and not just part of it. Tiled the surrounding walls behind the vanity, tub, and toilet. Additional Comments:
I had my whole master bathroom remodeled. As a graphic designer I designed how I wanted my new bathroom to look like. As the saying goes "you don't know what you don't know" and I came across a lot of areas where my design would not work in the tile real world. For example: there were certain zone codes that said my shower door had to be a certain amount away from the toilet. I have a small bathroom and was trying to utilize all my space. John was always very honest and told me what would or would not work. Even in areas where my design would work, he would tell me what could possibly go wrong down the road. He did not cut corners for the sake of making the job easier. He listened to my thoughts, even though I am sure I drove him nuts with my design ideas. The whole time on the job he was prompt and clean (to the best of his ability) and worked efficiently. I bought enough of the same style of tile to have him do my main bathroom and my laundry room at a later time since he was already booked up after my master bathroom was finished. Yes, I would hire him again and already have him booked for November. Please see Website...Mourelatos Tile for pictures. |

| John Mourelatos tiled our large great room closet with 18" travertine tiles, in preparation for converting it into a kitchen pantry and A/V center. Like the kitchen wall tiling he did for us several years ago, this floor tile is absolutely beautiful. John showed us a small crack in our cement foundation that showed up when the old tile cement was removed. He patched this small crack. He was prompt in his visit for the estimate, delivering his estimate, and carrying out the project. If John tells you he will be there on a certain date and time, he will be there. We consider him one of the best tile people in Tucson. He also is strongly committed to quality work, even the invisible work that many contractors will not do or cut corners on, John will tell you about and do them correctly. His prices are extremely competitive because he is his own contractor, so we didn't have a 10% general contractor fee on top of his estimate. John has done and will do all our tile work. He is absolutely a homeowner's dream come true. |
Member Comments:
We called John on Monday, January 11, 2010. On Saturday, January 16 he came out exactly on time to go over our latest project. He also gave us a referral for a carpenter who could build our pantry shelves for us. On Wednesday, January 20, John emailed us a detailed estimate. As always, John won the bid. Since we had to empty the closet of everything, we asked John to coordinate his start date so that the carpenter could follow immediately. We told John the earliest we could start would be February 8. Two days later John told us that he could start on Feb. 8 and our carpenter would follow soon after. The tile in our closet is gorgeous! |
